Alabama Moon by Watt key (Farrar Straus Giroux Publishing,2006)

Mrs. Moen, I would like you to meet Moon Blake. Moon is a 10 year old boy, who was raised in a secluded forest by his dad because they were dubious of the government. He loves the outdoors and knows how to navigate by stars to building a fire in the rain. He was planning to stay in the secluded forest in Alabama until his dad died and the government bought the land where they were living. One night Moon set out for Alaska because his dad said that their are more government haters up their like them. On his way there he was caught by the government and was taken to Pinson jail. While at Pinson he meets 2 friends Hal and Kit. One night Hal, Kit, and Moon broke out of jail and set out for Alaska.  He does not like to be in doors because it makes him feel like he is in jail.   He will do any thing in his power to stay in nature. He wants a family very badly, and one day he finds a family.
